Welcome to our school website.
I am very pleased to have this opportunity to tell you more about Bishop’s Hatfield Girls’ School and I hope that you will visit us to see for yourself why we are so proud of it.
Most visitors’ first impressions of the school are of a friendly, lively and stimulating community where we emphasise the importance of the individual’s contribution and take pleasure in sharing and celebrating achievement. You will see evidence of this from the way girls work purposefully in their lessons, from examples of their work displayed throughout the school and from the high level of participation in extra-curricular activities. As well as a broad and balanced curriculum we aim to offer a full programme of imaginative and exciting things to do at lunch times and after school because we believe that these are just as important in developing interesting, well-educated and responsible young people.
We also aim to reinforce the sound moral values that parents will already have instilled in their daughters. We recognise and praise achievement at all levels of ability in the knowledge that girls succeed when we have high expectations of them. Our expectations include maximum effort in their work, considerate and sensitive behaviour towards others and pride in personal appearance.
Of course we cannot achieve such high standards without parents’ support and we value your interest and your willingness to work with us to help your daughter gain the most from the seven years she will spend here.
